The route is shorter but will be slower than the route below.
From The SouthFrom the M6 motorway leave at junction 36 for Kendal/Lakes. Follow signs for Barrow. Three miles beyond Newby Bridge, before you reach Barrow, turn right to Workington (A5092). Follow this road for about 10 miles. After passing through the village of Foxfield continue for approx 2 miles until you reach the traffic lights on Duddon Bridge, immediately before the bridge turn right towards Ulpha. After 4 miles turn left in Ulpha village up the steep hill signed Eskdale. Follow the fell road for approx 6 miles to Eskdale. When you reach the King George IV pub turn right towards Boot. Fisherground is 200 yards on your left.
From The NorthLeave the M6 at Carlisle (junction 44) and follow the A595 (signed Barrow). Turn off at Gosforth and follow the road (6 miles) to Eskdale. Keep going through Eskdale Village until you come to the George IV on your right. Turn Left here towards Boot. Fisherground is 200 yards on your left.
